During your initial consultation, the doctor will examine the overall health of your skin and examine the wrinkles, creases, and folds in your forehead.  An incision will be made at or just behind the hairline depending on your anatomy.  The excess skin will be removed giving you a more youthful appearance.  A local anesthetic will be used to reduce discomfort and pain after the surgery. 

Antibiotics may be prescribed for several days following surgery, and sutures are generally removed within a week. Swelling and some bruising may occur and should subside within a few weeks.  Women will be allowed to use eye cosmetics two weeks after surgery, and you can proceed with your normal daily activities within 1 – 2 weeks.  A final evaluation may occur within several months from the initial surgical procedure. 

Following brow lift surgery, swelling and bruising is expected on and around the forehead and eyes.  You can expect this to subside after 1 – 2 weeks.
