About Laser Vein Removal
We want to help you get rid of your unsightly spider veins. These small, twisted blood vessels seen through the surface of the skin on the face or legs, affect many men and women in the United States. Dr. Elliott Black and Dr. Summer Black, our board-certified plastic surgeons, can remove these vessels with one of our laser modalities. Left untreated, spider veins will grow in number and branch out over the skin. At Dr. Black Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, we use the Varilite 532/940 system for facial veins, and the long pulsed nd:YAG 1064 for the legs and other parts of the body. Laser treatments on spider veins are safe and effective. Call and schedule an appointment to learn more about the number of sessions you may need for optimal results. This innovative laser treatment will not prevent future spider veins, but will do an amazing job at decreasing or eliminating the visible ones already on your skin. We are taking appointments in our Metairie, LA office. Contact our team today.
"I've been a patient of Dr Summer Blacks for about 4 years and I would never go anywhere else. I am ALWAYS ecstatic with her work and have had Botox and Restylane filler in my cheeks and lips. Dr Black is not only a total perfectionist but she becomes a friend you feel comfortable confiding in and sharing your life with. I would recommend Dr Black to my own mother....and in fact I did! Now we are both her patients who regularly visit her for all our anti-aging facial perfecting cosmetic work."- A.R. / Google / Feb 06, 2017
"Great experience - I had went to a few consultations for removal of implants over 3 years and just couldn’t find doctor I was comfortable with until I met Dr. Summer Black. Procedure went great and she called me frequently to check on me after hours which I have never had any physician do. Office staff is also great. She is very honest and her work is great. I can not say there was 1 negative."- L. / RealSelf / Oct 23, 2017

"Best Dr. by far! - Dr. Black performed a tummy tuck, a breast lift, and a small amount of lipo. I could not be any happier, I am actually glowing these days!!! She is AMAZING from start to finish. I felt more like I was being taken care of by family than just a doctor, from the day of my consultation until my check ups. Her and the entire care staff are just incredible people. This alone would make me..."- D. / RealSelf / Jul 13, 2017

Do I Qualify?
Patients, who are good candidates for laser vein removal, have visible small veins on their face and body. Patients should be in good general health before the procedure and should tell their doctor if they have a history of blood clots or may be pregnant.
What to Expect
Before the treatment begins, our aesthetic technician will cover the patient’s eyes with protective eyewear. Once the patient is ready, the laser hand piece will pass over the areas of the face and body that have visible blood vessels. The laser applies multiple wavelengths of light that can are absorbed by the blood vessel, which destroy the spider vein for a smoother appearance to the skin.
Laser vein treatment may cause some temporary redness, bruising, and blistering to the treated skin, but this should disappear in 2 weeks – 2 months. Patients are advised to rest and avoid strenuous activity after their treatment, and patients should cover the treated areas or use other protection from any sun exposure. For best results, patients may need multiple treatments over the course of several months. For a faster recovery, patients may consider wearing support stockings to help promote better blood circulation.
