"I've been a patient of Dr Summer Blacks for about 4 years and I would never go anywhere else. I am ALWAYS ecstatic with her work and have had Botox and Restylane filler in my cheeks and lips. Dr Black is not only a total perfectionist but she becomes a friend you feel comfortable confiding in and sharing your life with. I would recommend Dr Black to my own mother....and in fact I did! What To Expect
Depending on the size, depth, and location of your mole, there are many different ways to approach its removal. Our plastic surgeon will make sure the area is numb before starting the procedure.
- Shaving: A blade will be used to quickly shave the mole off the skin.
- Laser treatments: Lasers can effectively remove a small benign pigmented lesion from the skin without sutures.
- Surgical excision: The plastic surgeon will make an incision in the skin to cut away deep seated moles, and then suture the incision.
Typically, our patients spend less than an hour in our office having a mole removed. Once the patient is at home recovering, there may be some discomfort in the treatment area, but that should only last for a few days. We will discuss how you should implement proper skin care to limit scarring.
