We offer radio frequency (RF) microneedling to our patients at Dr. Black Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery.  RF microneedling combines traditional microneedling that involves tiny needles penetrating the dermis of the skin with the heat associated  with Radiofrequency.  This combination allows your body to naturally kick in and boost collagen production.  Our board-certified plastic surgeons, Dr. Elliott Black and Dr. Summer Black provide this treatment for patients who have mild to moderate skin laxity, but are not ready to have a surgical procedure for their loose face and/or body skin. RF energy targets the deep layers of your skin to boost the skin's elasticity, smooth out wrinkles, and repair damage from stretch marks and cellulite.  During a private consultation in our office in Metairie, LA, we will discuss with you that safest approach to your skin tightening needs.

Men and women both seek nonsurgical skin tightening procedures at our office. We see patients with:

• Mild to moderate skin laxity on face and body skin
• Wrinkles and fine lines
• Damaged skin (from stretch marks and/or cellulite)

During your treatment at our practice, you will be taken to one of our treatment rooms designated for your complete privacy.   A numbing cream will be applied to the skin to act as a barrier for the skin's protection. Using a targeted (radio frequency) heat, your plastic surgeon will implement your minimally invasive skin tightening treatment in the area discussed at your consultation.

Your number of treatments will be dependent on the location of the treatment on your body, size of the area to be treated, and the extent severity of your skin's condition.

• A full face treatment generally takes a minimum of 2 treatments spaced 8 weeks apart for optimal results.
• We do offer maintenance sessions for patients who would like to continue benefiting from the skin tightening before switching to a more aggressive intervention.

Your plastic surgeon may offer this procedure before attempting an invasive procedure such as a facelift or a neck lift where the skin would be excised off and sutured.  Keep in mind that the less invasive treatments may not meet your desired goals.   The most effective treatment for loose skin is a surgical lift of the affected area.  The good news is that the RF skin tightening treatment will still boost collagen within your skin. Your treatment will not be painless, but we will offer numbing agents for your skin if needed.  You may still experience redness and swelling in the treatment area, which will subside in a few, short weeks.  The pay off in the end will be smoother, softer skin that looks tighter.
